We need your support to object to the current plans for the redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market. We all want a new market, a fair market and we want it to improve everyone’s working environment. However, the current plans are so bad it means our businesses and lives will face unimaginable challenges during the 7 year demolition and rebuild, and into the new market itself.

Please support us by adding your name and e-mail address to our petition.

We need as many signatures as possible.  We need your support to show CGMA and Wandsworth Council that we are all united in our objection to the current plans and we need things to go our way. We are all for a better future and a better market, but the CGMA are clearly not listening to our needs.  We need our working conditions to be as pleasant as possible, but what we are really going to get is unimaginable chaos.  If you think the Sainsbury’s development is bad, then multiply that by 100 and get used to it – because that is what is going to happen, if we don’t get your support.

It’s Now or Never

We need your support to mount a united objection to the current plans for the redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market – your market.

We all want to see our market upgraded, we all want to work in a fair market and we all want the redevelopment to improve everyone’s environment and working lives. However, the plans that the developer has sent to the planning stage will see our businesses and lives turned upside down for seven years, jeopardizing the very future of this amazing institution.

We will all face unimaginable challenges during the 7-year demolition and rebuild, and as we move into the new market itself. So will the community around us – our customers, our suppliers and our immediate neighbors in the vicinity of the market.

To try and put a stop to the plans in their current format, we need to collect as many of your signatures as possible. Your support is critical if we are to show our landlord, the CGMA and Wandsworth Council that we are all united in our objection to the current plans – this time, we really need things to go our way.

We have discussed and negotiated for seven years already – all with a view to secure the best future for this market, but the CGMA has clearly not listened to our advice, our concerns or our needs. If planning permission is granted, what we all face, together, is unimaginable chaos.

If you think the Sainsbury’s development is bad, then multiply that by 100 and get used to it – because that is what is going to happen if we don’t get your support. There have already been a large number of objections to the plans from people outside the market, now is the time for us to stand united and make our powerful voice heard – the voice of 225 tenants, 2500 employees and 10s of thousands of customers across the South East.

Please support us by adding your name and e-mail address to our petition.
